Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 21, 2026
ActivArt ("we", "us", "our") is built on a simple principle: your data stays on your device. This policy explains exactly what information is accessed, where it goes, and what we never do.
1. What We Access
- Activity data — activity name, start time, duration, and distance from Strava, Health Connect, or Apple Health. Used only to identify the time window for photo matching.
- Device photo gallery — photos whose capture timestamp falls within an activity's time window. The app reads pixels only when you explicitly trigger photo processing.
- AI Quota tracking — local and cloud-synced (Firestore) usage counts for AI generations to manage monthly or daily limits. Linked to your athlete ID but contains no personal data.
- Logo overlays — custom logo images and their positions, stored securely in the app's local private storage. Never transmitted to our servers.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers.
- We do not upload your photos or activity routes to ActivArt servers.
- We do not store your account credentials — only short-lived OAuth tokens or platform-provided health access.
- We do not use advertising SDKs or track your location.
3. Third-Party Services
ActivArt integrates with official APIs from Strava, Google (Gemini, Health Connect, Firebase), and Apple. Usage data collected by these services is handled in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
Note: We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics on Android to improve app stability. These tools collect technical device data and anonymized event logs, but do not access your photos or activity details.
4. AI Photo Processing
When you apply an AI effect, ActivArt sends the image directly from your device to Google's Gemini API. If you are a subscriber, this uses our secure app key; free users provide their own key. In both cases, photo bytes travel directly to Google's servers without passing through ActivArt infrastructure.
5. Data Retention
All core app data (tokens, style preferences, custom logos) is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes this data. Subscription usage syncs are kept for the duration of the current month and can be cleared by contacting us.
